  2. National Advanced School of Applied Statistics and Economics In 1961, ENSEA was founded in order to train statisticians for french speaking west african countries

  3. National Advanced School of Applied Statistics and Economics • ENSEA is under the authority of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research • However, ENSEA has a financial autonomy as a national public education • A national annual subsidy is allocated for the usual investments

Training Programs • Ingénieurs Statisticiens Economistes (ISE)3 years training program • Ingénieurs des Travaux Statistiques (ITS) 2 years training program • Adjoints Techniques de la Statistique (AD) 2 years training program Agents Techniques de la Statistique (AT) 1 year training program • DESS ASAD: - 1 year training program for professionals

  5. Currently, ENSEA is the only statistical and economics training center that offer such program in Sub-Sahara

Continue Education At ENSEAENSEA offers continue education for professionals in public and private sectors This specialized training are intended to update the knowledge of those professionals and keeping them abreast of the current development in economics and statistics as pertaining to their job.

Research At ENSEA • The Research Department at ENSEA has two main objectives : • Train students in the area of data collections on the field, data exploration and data analysis using various softwares such as Stata, SPSS, SAS, E-Views, EPI-INFO, SPAD, and so on and so forth. • Conduct high level research studies in collaboration with national and foreign research centers around the world. • Areas of Interest are: economics, statistics, demography, reproductive health, HIV/AIDS, Local Government, etc…

  22. The Way Forward: In the next ten years, ENSEA will recruit students from: • Spanish Speaking countries : Cap vert, Guinée Bissau, Sao Tome et Principe, Angola … • English Speaking countries : Gambia, Ghana, Liberia, Nigeria, Sierra Leone… Feasibility Study starts in 2007

  23. Perspectives • Buy Equipments for the language lab • Change of programs towards the  LMD system • Creation of a 2nd DESS (Master) in partnership with the University of Bourgogne (Dijon) • Build the physical plant of the Research and International Cooperation Department
