  1. PRIMERA SESSIÓ XAT (1) • Plataforma: Ning • Dimarts 9 novembre, 22:45  23:34 (45 minuts) • Participació: 7 estudiants nivell A2, tots d’EEUU. Mitjana d’edat: 21 anys. Nombre total d’estudiants al grup: 13. Es tracta d’un grup molt ben avingut. • Temàtica o objectiu del xat: no definit prèviament, donant la benvinguda als que s’afegien, demanant on eren els altres estudiants, parlant del que havien fet la nit anterior…

  2. PRIMERA SESSIÓ XAT (2) • Total d’intervencions dels estudiants: 70 aprox. Exemples: • Donde está Mac? Está en su habitacion? • Voy a ver que esta haciendo Mac. • Has terminado la tarea? • Este fin de semana voy a ir a Holanda • En Sevilla hay... • Nosotros fuimos a la discoteca anoche • Fuiste a Apolo?

  3. SEGONA SESSIÓ XAT (1) • Plataforma: Facebook (permet guardar totes les intervencions per poder donar feedback si el professor ho vol a la classe) • Dimecres 17 novembre, de 22:15  23:00 (45 minuts) • Participació: 6 estudiants del mateix grup de 13 (nivell A2)

  4. SEGONA SESSIÓ XAT (2) • Temàtica del xat: es van proposar prèviament a classe uns temes i se’n van triar dos. Es va parlar de si els agrada més la vida a Barcelona o al seu país (tots d’EEUU). • Ells van parlar més entre ells. Jo, mentre ells parlaven, també vaig estar corregint exercicis i de vegades anava fent alguna intervenció Ss: 98 intervencions; jo 30

SEGONA SESSIÓ XAT (2) • un momento hahaha • ah, si. yo prefiero vivir en mi pais porque hay "flaming hot cheetos" en los estados unidos • creo que la cultura aqui es mas relajado que la cultura de los estados unidos • yo comi pollo este noche. comida es más barata en barcelona • despues yo quiero volver to Espana • a mi me gusta mas mi vida en america que mi vida en espana • no estoy de acuerdo. Creo que la gente aqui tiene tiempo para sentar en un cafe para muchas horas • Espana me ha ensenado no querer mucho dinero • a mi me gusta mas america por que los hombres aqui son muy raros

SEGONA SESSIÓ XAT (2) • por ejemplo, nunca he visto una persona de aqui que camina con un cafe. en los estados unidos muchisimas personas ordenan un cafe para llevar • tengo más libertad aquí para hacer las cosas que quiero hacer si necesitan dinero o no • yo siempre caminar con un café aquí el café es mucho mejor • en santa barbara casi todas las cosas divertidas cuestan más • Lunes y miercoles tomo una siesta despues de la clase de espanol. y los otros dias tomo una siesta a las dos en la tarde • Dónde tu gusta vivir mas en barcelona o en america? • nosotros tienemos canada, que mala suerte • Mac Nelson es de Colorado • ohhh "tanning" es cuando se pone en una maquina y su piel se hace oscuro

  7. SESSIONS XAT CONCLUSIONS DELS ESTUDIANTS: • “Ha sido divertido” • “Nadie puede verme, y estoy más relajada escribiendo. • “Puedo pensar lo que escribo”. • “Yo quiero volver a hacer chat”

  8. SESSIONS XAT CONCLUSIONS MEVES: • La comunicació és en espanyol, fet novedós per ells. • La comunicació és autèntica. • És un tipus de comunicació “híbrida” entre escrita i parlada: és molt espontània però no tant com en una conversa normal.

SESSIONS XAT CONCLUSIONS • Tot i l’aparent èxit de la iniciativa, si fes una tercera sessió de xat, no sé quants estudiants participarien (tot i dient-los que forma part de l’avaluació continuada). Van participar-hi la meitat dels Ss des del primer dia. • Cal estudiar i analitzar amb profunditat com es comuniquen els estudiants en la seva vida normal per tal d’adaptar les nostres activitats als seus interessos i fer-nos un espai en la seva comunicació. •  Creació d’un qüestionari n=28

  14. QÜESTIONARI: Ús del chat entre els estudiants Which application do you think is the best for chatting? Facebook Skype Skype is good because you can see who you are talking to. I prefer Skype because it is less time consuming. Skype is not so good because sometimes it can be difficult to understand the other person due to lack of good quality/connection. Skype is too temperamental and connections are hard sometimes. It could be very useful learning spanish with voice and text. If the connection was perfectly clear, I’d love to skype to learn Spanish.

Probably not, but overall, I have never been interested in language (also never used to chat much + prefers using the phone). 2. Not really, it is very impersonal, difficult to learn. Won’t pay as much attention (A1).

  16. QÜESTIONARI: Ús del chat entre els estudiants Do you think you would enjoy using CHAT for learning Spanish? Yes, I would enjoy that. I use group chats for some classes and I actually really enjoy it. That would be really great because I spend a lot of time online. Are nice because you can do other things while you are chatting. You can hold multiple conversations at the same time. It would be convenient and helpful, no one would have to be embarrassed to ask questions on chat. Yes, I try sometimes with my girlfriend from Guatemala but I don’t like to speak Spanish with her. It is better with a teacher or a stranger. I talk to my spanish professor from Argentina.

  17. QÜESTIONARI: Ús del chat entre els estudiants Do you think you would enjoy using CHAT for learning Spanish? Yes, I think it is a great way to learn. Chat helps with writing skills. Yes, it would improve my language skills. I think it would definitively make learning spanish more hands on and exciting. Yes, I think I’d like it. It could be helpful. Yes, I think it would help to talk to other classmates. It would be cool to have some sort of intercambio through videochat with the right exercises I would really like to learn Spanish with a chat program.
