ESS Group Advisement • Field Fridays • K-2 Practicum has 4 Literacy Practicums. • Begin meeting @ 3rd week of semester. • Complete before starting practicum.
ESS Group Advisement • TESOL Practicum Incorporation • All students will register for TELL 477R practicum (4 credits) with student teaching. • Work is done throughout program. • Details of the Plan • K-2/3-6 Practicum Semesters • Will have experience working with ELL students during practicum settings • Student Teaching (4-10 split) • Begin with 4 weeks of TESOL practicum • Finish with 10 weeks of student teaching. • China & Houston will qualify for TESOL practicum • Washington DC may not have enough ESL students* • Internship • 4+ ELL students – Complete practicum req.with class. • <4 ELL students* – Complete practicum req. using alternate experience. (Video, etc…)

ESS Group Advisement • Fall Registration (UPDATE) • K-2 practicum registration will not be open until 12:00 am on Wed, April 3rd. • It will be open to all students at the same time. • All students will be guaranteed a practicum placement. • Register for practicum El Ed 332 & seminar El Ed 330 as an Envelope in the Education category. • Select the desired district by registering with the corresponding section number.
