The Community- Warner Robins, GA • Warner Robins was founded in 1943 • 50% white, 36% african american, 2.6% asian, 10% hispanic, and 10% other • 94 males to every 100 females • <18 = 28%, 18-44 = 41%, 45-64 = 20.2%, >64 = 10.8%: average is 33 • 40% of the population works with Robins AFB • $37,262 per household $19,946 per person • 60% Republican, 39% Democratic, 1% other

School District - Houston County • Mission: “Our mission is to produce high-achieving students.” • Vision: “Our vision is to be world class.” • District 7 • Superintendent • “Our plan is to continue to outperform state average test scores, excel in academic competitions, and defeat others in sport championships. The faculty and staff continually strives to improve and work to take the system to even greater heights.” • Health insurance, budget for classroom expenditures, protection with administrators and police officer

  4. The School- Feagin Mill Middle School • Met AYP (6th:85%, 7th:92%, 8th 85%) • “To ensure the success of all students in the present so that they may excel in the future” • Most students are white (62%), middle class students. • 674 students

The School - continued • Football, basketball, softball, cheer, soccer, basketball, baseball, track • Band, ceramics, theatre, chorus, dance, photography • 2003 and 2007 GA school of excellence, 1999-2001 #1 academic middle school in central GA • Shirt tails tucked, no drug or gang affiliated clothing

  6. Analysis of data • Feagin Mill Middle School is an extremely successful middle school. The school truly cares about the success of its students, and it puts all of its effort into meeting the standards that are stated in the mission statement. • Pros- Extremely helpful staff, supportive principal, and high expectations from every level • Cons- Cliquey parents and community
