  1. Mock Trial Chapter 5 Final Project

  2. Research Expectations • EVERYONE: • There is no shortage of ways to use the information given. If you can only come up with 2 or 3 stats, you aren’t using all of your Chapter 5 knowledge! • Have a rough draft to play around with the numbers on – Make sure you look at both sides. What might the other side say to weaken your argument? Be prepared for it! • Prior to the trial, finalize all of your facts. These should be VERY neatly written out or typed as they will be collected. • Have a trial game plan. Who is going to present what? You will be graded as individuals.

  3. Trial Expectations • The Attorney • The judges are in charge. They will let you know the trial rules. Follow them – or else you will risk being thrown out. Your behavior will counted in your grade. • Have a game plan and stick to it. Remember, since you are being graded as individuals you want to make sure that each member can say their part. • Present your side to all. This includes displaying facts and countering any points made against you. • Warning: Any incorrect or false facts will drastically impact your grade.

  4. Trial Expectations • The Judge • Have a well thought out trial procedure and inform both sides of it right away. You will be given a stop watch and gavel. • Maintain order in your court! You are in charge and any lack of organization or control will be reflected in your grade. Remember, the attorneys are there to convince you. Keep them in line and remember you can control what happens for steps out of line. • Know your facts. If anything is unclear, question it!
