  5. Theme "Hair" became internationally famous for a brief, dimly lit scene at the end of the first act when the entire company assembled in the nude. The shows nudity made it a first for a Broadway musical as did its full rock score.

  7. controversy The Act I finale was the first time a Broadway show had seen totally naked actors and actresses, and the show was charged with the desecration of the American flag and the use of rude language. Attracting occasional threats and acts of violence during the show's early years, two cases eventually reach the supreme courts.
