  10. Something bad happens (or might happen)

  11. Something bad happens (or might happen) AND WE FEEL BAD.

  12. Something bad happens (or might happen) AND WE FEEL BAD. Our bad feeling becomes a negative belief that bad things always happen.

Soon, the voice in our head sounds like: “They are always difficult to be with.” “I can never get this right!” “Nobody wants to buy my stuff!” “If I fail I’ll lose everything!” “I never have enough energy.”

  23. We look for evidence to prove our belief is right.

  30. “A great many people think they are thinking when they are merely rearranging their prejudices.”  William James

  31. So, how are successful people so POSITIVE?

  32. Simple: they change their mind.

  33. HOW TO CHANGE YOUR MIND (in only 5 seconds) THE MODEL

  34. 1. AWARE Realize something isn’t working AND you have choices. Sure, there are people you can blame and maybe you did screw up. But, what you are experiencing right now is under your control. AWARE ACCOUNTABLE ASK ACTION

  35. 2.ACCOUNTABLE Superman only saves cartoon characters and good luck trying to win the lottery. You are responsible. Now, decide what you want and get ready to work for it. AWARE ACCOUNTABLE ASK ACTION

  36. 3. ASK Blame is judgment - curiosity opens doors. When you ask “Why does this always happen to me?” your sub-conscious comes up with 12 (or more) reasons why you failed. That won’t help. Instead, ask a good question, like “What’s one thing I can do RIGHT NOW to make this better?” AWARE ACCOUNTABLE ASK ACTION

  37. 4.ACTION This is where the rubber hits the road and you practice taking control. Successful people train their mind to instantly flip the switch and turn more light on what’s in their way. They don’t run away. And they don’t look for more bad things to happen. They change their mind and take action. AWARE ACCOUNTABLE ASK ACTION

  38. HOW TO CHANGE YOUR MIND (in only 5 seconds) IN PRACTICE

  39. ARGUEMENT ! The fastest way to change someone is for you go first. Apologize for how they feel and ask how you can make things better. Don’t argue, get defensive, or pissy. Just let them know you heard them and you care. ! AWARE ACCOUNTABLE ASK ACTION

  40. SALES ! Pick up the phone and call a client. But, don’t try to sell them. Simply, ask them what they need. And then ask another question. And another. Build trust and empathy now and you’ll get all the sales you need later. ! AWARE ACCOUNTABLE ASK ACTION

  41. EXERCISE ! Put on your running shoes and walk out the door. Don’t think about it. Set your watch for 20 minutes. Don’t debate it. Get to the road, start jogging. Don’t stop. ! AWARE ACCOUNTABLE ASK ACTION

  42. DEBT ! Call the credit card company, explain your mistake and ask to have the late fee removed. Go to your bank. Set up a monthly auto payment to reduce your debt. Every action (even small ones) takes you closer to your goal. ! AWARE ACCOUNTABLE ASK ACTION

  43. “Our concentration on a positive thought robs the painful thought of its sting.” Richard Restak, Mozart’s Brain and the Fighter Pilot

  44. The most powerful habit is the habit to change your mind.

  45. This is your job Find something TODAY to be positive about, just because you can.

  46. Are you ready to… ! ! ! ! !
