    1. Building Effective Communication. By, Shankar Silmula.

    2. Communication Process.

    3. Types Of Communication. Mass Communication. One to One Communication. One to Group Communication. Verbal Communication. Non Verbal Communication.

    4. Observance Of The Beat. Four Steps. Build strong communication with LOCAL people. Observe MSM people and their behaviour on the beat. Find out if there is a GROUP existing, if not form one. Identify the group LEADER/INFLUENCER and train him to be your PEER EDUCATOR.

    5. The Pitch. First impression is the last impression. Have CORRECT information so that you deliver proper information. Make your language LOCAL as per the beat/client. Use “YOU” attitude and make your client feel special. Make proper use of IEC materials, as pictures speak more than words Compare the CHARGES of counseling and testing when same done in private clinic.

    6. Continued……… Don’t ask questions which makes your client feel UNCOMFORTABLE. Use “FEAR” factor, if only required. Remember that there should be no scope of NEGATIVE answers from the client’s side. Avoid asking questions such as “will you come for counseling and testing” the answer may be straight way NO. TWIST your question by asking “what time can I expect you tomorrow”, “so when would you like to get tested”, “Ok you stay at Andheri well you may come to Cooper hospital get yourself tested”.

    7. Overall Personality Development. Remember that now you are working for an organization hence your positive/negative actions will affect the organizations reputation. When you go to the beat its not only you an individual, you are carrying along the organizations goodwill. So dress decently avoid wearing clothes that looks feminine, don’t use any fowl language, and avoid applying make-up while working on beat. Get influenced by senior ORWs BUT positively.

    8. Build Up Confidence. Think positive and be optimistic. Always think that “U CAN DO IT” Have proper information so that you are confident regarding what you are speaking. Wear a BIG SMILE when you walk to your site. Assume that there is a client waiting for you on the beat who needs your services. Create a competitive scenario; always try to do better than others. Get motivated by your competitors, but don’t feel jealous.

    9. Keep In Mind. Work hard consistently; be honest to your job. Maintain a follow up with the clients. Keep in mind the target given to you. Remember the deadline, and work according to that. Have an urge to do more than the target given to you. Asking questions and learning is the best exercise.

    10. Remember ONE Equation. H S T is HUMSAFAR TRUST

    11. And H+S=T Hardwork + Smartness= Target Achievement.

    12. Thank You.
