Background • The Integrated Disease Surveillance Project (IDSP) of India suffers from a lack of data analysis / engagement at the district level • Data (S and P forms) not transformed into information (Tables, maps, figure) • Data analysis at the district level would allow use of information for public health action and improve data quality 2

  3. Audience The proposed target audience of the course is the district surveillance officers engaged in IDSP 3

  4. Expected competencies at the end of the course • Handle data • Operate surveillance for decision-making • Respond to limited, localized outbreaks • Exchange within the health system • Monitor surveillance activities 4
