  4. Roundworms • Phylum name: Nematode • 15,000 species • Small and cylindrical, with pointed heads and tapered tails • 3 tissue layers • Complete digestive tract with two openings

  6. Segmented Worms • Phylum name: Annelida • 15,000 species • All body segments are very similar • 3 tissue layers • Bilaterally symmetrical • Digestive tract penetrates segment walls and runs the length of the animal

Fun Facts • A worm has no arms, legs, or eyes. • The largest earthworm ever found was 22 feet long! • Each worm has both female and male organs. • Worms can eat their weight each day. • Worms have between 1 and 5 pairs of hearts. • Earthworms use their skin to breathe. • Worms live about 3 to 4 years.
