  3. Login into your Tablet • 1.) Turn on the power • 2.) Wait for the screen to come on • 3.) Click on the SWITCH USER Button • 4.) Click on the OTHER USER Icon • 5.) Your Username will be: • The firstSEVENdigits of your SDSMT ID # • Example: • If your ID has 8 digits – ignore the last 1 • Username: 1234567 • Password – Birthdate & StudentID • (mmddyyyystudentID) • Example: • Password: 081619631234567

  5. Make yourself Administrator of your computer • 1.) Double Click on the Makeadmin.lnk icon on your Desktop – Internet Explorer will open and a message will appear and then tell you to log off and log back on. • 2.) Click on Yes to make IE8 your default Internet Tool • 3.) X-out of Internet Explorer • 4.) Then you will need to Log Off and Log back in to your computer • Start • Right Arrow (next to shut down button) • Log Off

Code of Conduct • You are responsible for your machine and will be using it in a public setting • Desktop pics, sounds, etc. • Instructors have the right to have you shut the screens, write in tablet mode, etc. • During class - No checking email, no messaging friends, etc. It is still a classroom. • Keep your mines.sdsmt.edu email functioning – watch your free space, keep your account active. • If you break the law, you will be prosecuted – and yes, it has happened many times already. It is almost always a federal crime since the info crosses state lines on the internet. Not something you want on your record • Do NOT give out your user information to friends/family. If something happens on YOUR machine, YOU are responsible.
