Design Update on Accelerating Structure and Manufacturing Method Changes

This document details the updated design and manufacturing strategies for the accelerating structure mock-up and its associated components. Originally produced by electro-erosion wire cutting, the previous method was deemed inefficient due to the machining time required for deep waveguides. The new production strategy incorporates brazing and electron beam welding for manifold assemblies, cooling interfaces, and stack constructions. This update emphasizes enhanced assembly techniques, improved cooling systems, and overall efficiency in the manufacturing process.

  1. TEST MODULE TYPE “0” Accelerating Structure Mock-up Mechanical Design Update : Change of the Manufacturing Method Dmitry Gudkov 07-FEB-2011 «BE/RF»

  2. Previous Configuration Bars representing the accelerating structure body and vacuum manifold are produced by electro erosion wire cutting: The machining takes very long due to large depth of the waveguides so it was decided to change the production strategy as shown on the next slides.
