1. What You Should Know Before Buying Toslink Optical Cable

2. In this digital age, sending the audio file is not so challenging. There are thousands of ways of transmitting the file. However, the use of Toslink Optical Cable is the easiest and affordable way to connect the devices together to transport the audio signal. The name Toslink was derived from the inventor company Toshiba. With time, it has become the standard for all the audio transfer. The fiber optics is the main unit of the optical cables that convert the sound into a red LED light to relay it. For that reason, the scope of electrical interference is quite low. They are easily accessible and quite user-friendly. It also has a plug at the end of each cable in order to save the jack cable from dirt. You need to remove the plug before you use them and you have to replace them when they are not in use. In most of the music player or amplifier’s socket has a spring-operated gate which eventually unlocks when the plug is put in and locks when the wire is removed. Before buying Toslink Optical Cable, you need to know a few things which are important factors to select the right wire for your purpose. Length: The quality of transmission highly depends on the length of the wire. It can be considered that the wire above 10 meters of length is not a good option to choose as the sound quality will go down. To get the best audio, it is advisable to buy the toslink cable not more than 5 meters, for which you don’t have to use a signal booster. In case you want an optical cable that is more than a hundred feet, then

3. you go for the wire that is made by melted quartz as it is the best choice to get a high-quality audio transmission. For a shorter cable, you can select the plastic optical fibers which will have no difference in quality unless you take it more than a hundred feet. Width: There are mainly two varieties in respect of width is Toslink cable that is 5 mm and 8 mm. Surprisingly, there are not many differences in performance between these two as the change is only in the outer dimension only and it will not affect the connection. The only reason, you can go for the thicker cable is that it is more durable. It is also true that the 8 mm cable comes with a protective layer of nylon mesh that covers the outside from wear and tear. Brands: Honestly, there is no much difference in the optical cable from brand to brand. In case, you have a special ear of nitty-gritty details of music or own a supremely high-quality music system, then only you can understand the difference of the brand, otherwise, you can go with any of them. Cost: With respect to the coaxial cable, the optical cable is a little expensive. On the other hand, it will give you better performance. While producing a digital signal, there will be no interference with the nearby electronic systems.
