  4. Participant Teams • School Teams • 4 people (any combination of science, social studies, Mathematics, reading, ELA teachers, curriculum supervisor, principal, guidance counselor) • ContentTeams • ELA/Reading • Science/Social Studies • Mathematics

Workshop Objectives: • To assist Participant Content Teams in developing a Conceptual Unit Plan aligned with the GLEs-Comprehensive Curriculum and EPAS Standards • To assist School Teams in developing a plan of action, including appropriate materials, for: • delivery of 1-day workshop with other teachers at local school sites; • meeting at least three times during the fall semester to deepen understanding of EPAS and Portal curricular materials

What do we have to do to prepare for 5-Day workshop? • Content Teams • Align EPAS standards with GLEs/Comprehensive Curriculum • Develop one model Conceptual Unit Plan • Develop Plan of Action for Project Content Team Component of 5-Day Workshop (Sped consultant and Planning Consultant will also be present during this workshop session) • Professional Learning Community Team • Develop a Professional Learning Community Plan of Action • Prepare Blackboard session for facilitation of PLC and Project Communication • Tech Project Team (all of us) • Plan for Orientation Session and Debriefing Sessions • Consider preliminary plan for Two-Day Follow-Up Workshop

  7. Align EPAS standards with GLEs/Comprehensive Curriculum • Examine the EPAS standards for your content area • Use the form provided to align with content GLEs

Develop Conceptual Unit PlanSuggested Format (Open for Revision): • Unit Goals and Objectives (aligned with GLEs and EPAS standards) • Materials and Resources (including web-based) • Instructional Strategies informed by: • EPAS Pathways • Model Curriculum Activities • Student Performance Outcomes • Assessment Method • Description of Assessment • Assessment Tools (Examples) • Constructed Response Exam • Selected Response Exam • Performance/Product Rubric

  9. Model Conceptual Unit Due Date? • Must receive the plan in time for preparing School Team Packets for workshop • Upload to Blackboard by June 1 • Peer Review using rubric (Designed by P. Leonard) • Mathematics Team will review Science/Social Studies Unit • Science/Social Studies Team will review ELA/Reading Unit • ELA/Reading Team will review Mathematics Unit • Peer Review Due June 6 • Revise, if necessary, based on feedback • Final version of Unit Plan due to Blackboard by June 13

Prepare Plan of Action for Project Content Team Component of 5-Day Workshop • Each Tech Content Team will develop a plan of action for the 1½ day portion of the 5-Day Workshop: Think about: • How will you organize the day? • Whole Group Sessions? • Content Team Sessions? • How you will share your model conceptual unit with your Content Team members • How you will help your assigned Content Team members develop their own conceptual unit • How you will evaluate their units and provide feedback • What you want them to bring back for follow-up workshop • Plan of Action and List of Required Materials -- Due to Blackboard by June 1

Professional Learning Community Team • Develop a Professional Learning Community Plan of Action • Friday session • Need to consult with Content Teams • Prepare Blackboard session for facilitation of PLC and Project Communication • Tuesday afternoon session • What might be some uses of Bb for participants • Peer evaluation of Unit Plans • Your evaluation of their Unit Plans • Weekly Discussion Forum? • Content Team Forum? • School Team Forum? • Fall Quarter – Weekly Communication
