  2. dialup connection • The connection speed of dial-up is limited by the bandwidth of phone lines, though the average file size for web content is increasing. • To squeeze much data through a dialup connection takes a lot of time. • You need a modem to send information and data through the phone lines.

  3. DSL Connection • Stands for digital subscriber line. • It is a very high-speed connection that uses the same wires as a regular telephone line. • It has an extra fast modem speeding its processing. • Thus more information can be squeezed through a standard phone line.

  4. cable-based internet connection • A cable modem is a speedster that uses the coaxial television cables that are already there without interrupting normal cable TV reception. • They are extremely fast and can receive data at up to 10 million bps • Its designed to transmit internet information (from the web) to your computer at incredibly great rates of speed • It refers to the complete system where an internet service provider uses cable modems. • It reaches speeds of up to 100 times that of regular dial-up modems. • Television signals and the Internet information travel through the cable at different frequencies thus making it possible for one to watch cable television while accessing the internet without any problems for television reception. • They can take advantage of the existing high bandwidth available on the cable television network.
