STEVENSON-WYDLER TECHNOLOGYINNOVATION ACT OF 1980 Established the FLC • Mandated federal labs to transfer technology to non-federal parties • Focused on dissemination of information • Required federal labs to become active in technical cooperation • Set apart a percentage of the lab budget for technology transfer activities • Established Offices of Research and Technology Applications (ORTAs)

  3. August, 2005 Executive Board Meeting Approved the Strategic Plan for FY 2006 Approved the Budget for FY 2006 Washington D. C. rep. finalist

  4. Strategic Plan MISSION The FLC shall provide the Forum for education and training, laboratory networking to enhance professional development, recognition of excellence in federal technology transfer, and fostering the rapid integration of research and development into the U.S. economy.

  5. 3 Strategic Goals • Develop FLC members to be leaders in technology transfer • Education and training • Awards Foster theenvironment for technology transfer Communications, Publications, Web site Alliances with: Industry, AUTM, LES, WBT Enhance the professional organizational structure • Leadership training • Organizational structure

EDUCATION AND TRAINING • Education and Training (E&T) Committee • Customers • ORTA managers and staff • Laboratory scientists and engineers • Laboratory management • External customers • How Accomplished • National and regional meetings (fundamentals, intermediate, advanced) • Online (in development) • Site-specific (labs, conferences, etc.) • Publications (T2 Desk Reference, “Green Book,” FLC NewsLink)
