What are Credits?How much should I study?How many credits should I take in a semester?How many credits do I need to graduate? • Enrollment of 12 credits per semester is considered full time • 28 credits are needed to reach sophomore level • To graduate within 4 years, you need to average 15 credits per semester • 120-123 credits are needed to graduate • 2.0 minimum cumulative GPA and 2.0 minimum major GPA

University RequirementsIntegrative Studies Integrative Studies is a unique approach to general education offering a core curriculum that complements specialized work by students in their majors. These courses integrate multiple ways of knowing and modes of inquiry and prepare students to develop as critical thinkers. They also encourage appreciation of our humanity and creativity, human cultural diversity, the power of knowledge, and our responsibilities for ourselves and for our world. • ISS – Social, Behavioral, and Economic Sciences • IAH – Arts and Humanities • ISB – Biological Sciences • ISP – Physical Sciences • ISB/P Laboratory – Once lab course in either the Biological or Physical Sciences IAH/ISS Diversity Requirement: Course choices must include 2 out of the 3 designations of ‘I’, ‘N’, or ‘D’.

College Requirements (BA? or BS?) 30 credits of courses must be taken outside of your major field of study, and cannot overlap with University Requirements.

Major Requirements • Freshmen typically take only one to two courses in their major field the first year. • The Major Information Sheet (handout) indicates courses your advisor recommends for the first year, and how to contact your advisor, if you have questions after you leave AOP. • Check the Academic Programs Book on the web, visit your department web site, see Degree Navigator, or ask your advisor for a list of required courses.

Electives Courses that are not required for the University, College or Major. Most majors require electives to count toward degree requirements.
