  13. Admission Steps Please refer to the: New Student Orientation (NSO) “Getting Started at JJC” handout • Submit your application for admissions at www.jjc.edu, & simply click, “Apply Now”

Financial Aid • Fill out the Department of Education’s Free Application for Federal Student Aid form on line at: www.fafsa.gov • Check your JJC email account – you will be notified of documents needed to complete your financial aid file. Turn in all documents requested as soon as possible. 14

(Based on various criteria: Academics, financial need, extracurricular activities, family heritage, major specific, and more!) • To apply - Visit www.jjc.edu/scholarships • Apply between January 1st and May 1st(of your senior year) for priority consideration 15

Can I use my ACT/SAT or other scores instead? • Yes! • JJC recognizes ACT, GED, HiSET, PARCC & SAT scores four years old or younger. • For example, JJC accepts ACT scores in place of ACT COMPASS scores • 22 in Math = Math 119, Math 123, Math 127, Math 128, Math 131 and Math 138 • 23 in Math = Math 142 • *19 in English (Not ACT Writing) = English 101 placement • ACT scores are valid for 48 months from testing date. See the Academic Skills Website for more information! *New lower score as of 3/1/19 – see handout for updated SAT scores

What are the JJC Placement Tests? • This is a computerized, untimed, proctored test. • Determines your placement in English, math, foreign language, and other courses and programs. • The Math test is produced by ALEKS& includes a Learning Module. • The Reading & Writing tests are produced by Accuplacer. • Includes multiple-choice testing for Reading and Writing. • The Reading and Writing are available to be taken twice every semester if they have not begun the respective sequence
