  3. MINI SHOWSINCOPERNICUS SCIENCE CENTER

  4. Fullerene - C60 model The main goal of this event is to attract visitors with something more interactive than any of the exhibits. It encourages teamwork between the participants (and us – explainers) which results in building the whole C60 molecule model. During their work, the leader introduces some basic information about fullerenes, including the origin of the name, structure, discovery, properties or possible use. The event ends with a possibility of making a photo inside a unique, huge fullerene.

  5. Only one side – the Möbius strip This event is based on one of the exhibits in The Roots of Civilization gallery. Comparing to the fullerene it’s much shorter, but it focuses on explaining some topological matters rather than building a big model. Instead of a big one, each participant has their own strip and can cut it their own way. Then it shows differences between differently cut strips and prooves what might seem impossible. The leader can talk about interesting facts linked with topology, which is not the subject of daily discussions and therefore is a good topic of an inteactive show.

  6. Lighting a fire– a glimpse to ourroots This mini show isalsobased on on of the exhibits. A bettername for it, though, isworkshop. The explainerleads a groupthrough the development of civilizationfocusing on human’sabilities of making a fire. Eachvisitorhas a possibility to tryany of mentionedmethods: lighting a fire by a single and the other one by using a flint. The workshopraisessubjectswhichareratheruncommon, but mayfitverywell in somevisitorsinterests. Worthmentioningisitsinspiring role as we expectpeople to learnmore by themselvesathome.

  7. Why invest in mini shows? • encouraging • interactive • eyecatching • inspiring • short and not boring • dynamics I heard and I forget I see and I remember I do and I understand

  8. Thankyou!
