Enhancing Distance Learning in Nigeria: Insights from the Train the Trainers Workshop

This document outlines the key insights and objectives from the Train the Trainers (TtT) workshop held in Abuja in September 2010, aimed at improving distance learning (DL) programs in Nigeria. It addresses the need for qualified distance learning staff, innovative curriculum design, and effective assessment strategies to reduce the annual shortfall of qualified students. The workshop emphasized collaboration among universities, the importance of mentoring, and the phased introduction of e-learning to enhance DL quality across institutions, following the National Universities Commission (NUC) guidelines.
