  3. What You Will Need • Intent to Graduate • Defense Date • Format Review • Defense Announcement • Release Option • Final Approval Form • Final Submission

  4. Intent to Graduate • Online Intent to Graduate Form • Log in to your MyUCF • Go to your Student Center • Select Intent to Graduate: Apply from the drop down menu

  5. Defense Date • Decide on a defense date with your committee chair. • Be sure to defend by the deadline posted in the academic calendar. • Contact Erica Mendoza at Erica.Mendoza@ucf.edu to reserve ED306 for your defense. • Notify your committee members of the final date.

  6. Format Review • Submit on the Thesis & Dissertation Services Website • Check the academic calendar for deadlines

  7. Defense Announcement • Template available www.education.ucf.edu • Your Committee Chair must approve • No signatures required for this form • Please e-mail your defense announcement to edgrad@ucf.edu at least two weeks prior to your defense.

  8. Release Option E-form • The release option tells the university how you would like your final document to be made available to the public • Talk with your committee chair and decide on a release option • This information is noted on your dissertation approval form • Find the release option e-form by the following navigation https://my.ucf.eduMyUCF > Student Self-Service > Student Center > Graduate Students > choose Graduate Form

  9. Enter Your Information You need: A Dissertation Title & A Defense Date • Enter your dissertation title and defense date. • Indicate whether you have any patents.

  10. Choose Your Release Option • Choose your release option and click submit • You will receive an e-mail notification when your form is processed.

  11. Final Approval Form • Found on the Thesis & Dissertation Services Website. • Once you have defended and your committee members have signed your final approval form, please bring your form to the Graduate Affairs Office (ED115). • The Graduate Affairs Office will get the remaining required signatures and submit your final approval form to the Graduate College.

  12. Graduation Visit the Registrar’s Office for detailed information about commencement including • How to order your cap & gown • View the schedule of ceremonies • View other graduation related information
