Spring Conference 2013 Fundraising is vital to Heartbeat • Heartbeat is reliant on Fundraising activities • Needed to sustain and grow Heartbeat • Working in a challenging environment – lessons learned in 2012 have influenced 2013 plans • Support needed from Heartbeat members in all classes • Need to increase fundraising activities to increase income and ultimately maintain and grow Heartbeat services for the future • So how do we do it?

Spring Conference 2013 The Heartbeat Lottery for 2013 • Recruit new Lottery players – Magnum Direct • Communicate with Lottery supporters – Welcome leaflet and regular newsletter • Further engage Lottery supporters with Heartbeat – messaging • Re-engage people who have stopped playing the Lottery – communication and messaging • Be cost-effective – convert standing orders to direct debit

  7. Spring Conference 2013 A Different Outlook for 2013 Heartbeat Events • Ladies Luncheon, Sportsman’s Dinner, Wine tasting evenings, Quiz nights Sponsored Events • Promotion of sponsored events. Encourage supporters to take part and raise funds for us Community Fundraising • Promote and support self organised fundraising events Corporate Support • Seek support and sponsorship from local organisations Groups and Associations • Promote Heartbeat to local groups for support and to raise local awareness Collections • Collection boxes, store collections and home money boxes Raffles • Summer and Christmas Legacies/In Memory Donations • Promote this way of giving with supporters, local solicitors and funeral directors

Spring Conference 2013 What do we want to say to our supporters • We need ALL our supporters to know certain things about us to effectively fundraise • Who we are, what we do, who we help, how we do it • We need to communicate the NEED for Heartbeat in the local community and we have to make sure that every supporter BELIEVES that their contribution can make a real difference • No matter how supporters get involved with Heartbeat their contribution is VITAL

Spring Conference 2013 There’s much to be done… • 2013 is going to be a very busy year for Heartbeat Fundraising • We plan to grow Lottery and Fundraising activity and income • We need all our supporters behind us • It doesn’t have to be just financial support • Volunteer with us today! • with your support we can achieve it!
