  1. Document : “LHC Orbit System Low level SW procedures” : EDMS ID 1348775. Contains an introduction to the system infrastructure and several low level procedures: • Calculation of the LHC Beam Position in mm: Main difference wrt LHC run#1 are: • Update of the coefficients. • 2D geometrical corrections. Those coefficients can be found in Andriy’s document : EDMS ID 1342295 (Table 2). • No more multiplication by Kf before geom. non-linearity correction. • Tilt expressed as an angle, and not as a cos (45°), to allow generalization to all the BPMs. • QA: SW “embedded” offsets and tilts should be specified on this document. • D. Missiaen will provide us updated info about offsets & tilts by the end of the year. (BPMD, etc). • Temperature compensation: keep as it is implemented now. • Hard-coded • Some errors were found in the FIP decoding for the “FipOverview” procedure described in the previous document version. Application should be checked. • Described procedure to obtain serial numbers of the tunnel cards as human readable numbers.

  2. New documents to clarify the mapping between BPMs, FECs and FIP addresses. (EDMS 1342851). • There will be new BPMs, and some name changes. These changes will be propagated soon to the previous document. • Pt 3 : • Pt 4 : New monitors for the BGI: BPMWI.5L4.B1 and BPMWI.5R4.B2 • Pt6:

  3. Pt 5 : BPMs in Roman Pots will move from 4L6 to 6L5 and from 4R5 to 6R5. 6L5 and 6R5 already had Totem stations. New names to be defined. • Channels equipped with Diode Orbit also seen by the OFC: • Duplicated channels for BPMS in Q1. • Collimator BPMs.

  4. Terminals in the SR buildings? Before LS1, PC in rack BY01. • Either we find a new place to install them back • There are empty racks in the same row: SR1, SR2, SR5, SR6. • SX4 we can place it in a table in the BI closed local. • SR8: empty racks • Without place: SR3, SR7 and SR8. • 2) Either we replace them by CO centrally managed PC + 1U KVM console installed in a free slot at rack BY05. • CO accepts this solution and seems easy to integrate. • Prices from 700CHF up to 2k CHF, and typically ~1400CHF.

  5. Some KVM consoles: • StartTech.com : starting at ~760 USD (17” 1280x1024 display, 1 VGA and 1 USB A) up to 1400 USD (17” 1920x1080 display, 1 USB B, 1 VGA and 2 PS/2). • Dell: ref. 331-9437 for 1240 USD (18.5" display, and 1 KVM and 2xUSB interfaces). • APC: 17” or 19”, comes with a custom cable at the console end and it has 2 PS/2 + 1 VGA at the other end. • Tripp lite: 17” 1280x1024 LCD with also a KVM cable kit (VGA + 2 PS/2). 2kCHF at mouser.ch • Schroff: 17” 1280x1024, 2 PS/2 or USB, about 1200 euro/piece.

  6. SR1 2 empty racks

  7. SR2 2 empty racks

  8. SR3 Local ? Drawing is wrong ! No rack empty but these two have many space available.

  9. SE5 2 empty racks

  10. SR6 Empty rack

  11. SR7 Many space available, but magnet interlock.

  12. SR8 Empty racks EPC local ?
