  4. What is Alcohol? • Alcohol is a DRUG. • Alcohol is a Depressant, which mean is slows down the brain.

  5. What Happens When People Drink? Step 1: Alcohol enters directly into the bloodstream Step 2: Alcohol affects the brain & spinal cord (which control ALL body functions) Step 3: Messages to the brain are blocked Step 4: Perceptions, emotions, movement, vision, and hearing do not work properly.
