  5. Descending Order • By convention we write our polynomials in descending order; that is, from the highest exponent to the lowest exponent. Rewrite the polynomial in descending order highest lowest

  6. Different kinds of polynomials • What does “poly” mean? • So a polynomial has MANY terms • What number does “mono” represent? • So a monomial has ONE term • What number does “bi” represent? • So a binomial has TWO terms • What number does “tri” represent? • So a trinomial has THREE terms
