Join us for Wildlife Wednesdays and learn about the incredible Komodo Dragon, the largest lizard on Earth! Found on Indonesian islands, these apex predators can grow up to 10 feet long and weigh nearly 350 pounds. As carnivores, they primarily feast on carrion and live prey, and their toxic saliva helps them subdue their meals. Unfortunately, they are considered a vulnerable species, with fewer than 5,000 left in the wild and only 350 females capable of reproduction. Visit Gaia and Ivan, our Komodo Dragons, at the Phoenix Zoo!
