Award Negotiation/Process • ORSP will negotiate the contract and obtain required signatures • Enter the award in PeopleSoft • Send a request to Sponsored Programs Accounting (SPA) to activate your award and issue a speed key • SPA emails UNO-NOGA - opportunity to check information • Must sign and return to SPA • NOGA has ORSP and SPA contacts

  12.  Institutional Animal Use and Care Committee (IACUC) • This committee follows federal regulations from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (for use of certain types of animals), but primarily from a regulatory subdivision of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the Office of Laboratory Animal Welfare (OLAW).  Institutional Review Board (IRB) • This committee follows federal regulations based on Title 45 of the Code of Federal Regulations (Part 46) governing the conduct and ethical guidance of biomedical or behavioral research involving human subjects. http://www.uno.edu/orsp/PoliciesProcedures/HumanandAnimalSubjects.aspx

Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) • Oversight of all teaching and research activities involving: Recombinant DNA, Artificial Gene Transfer, Infectious Agents, and Biologically Derived Toxins. This also includes use of biological and hazardous materials at other research sites accessed by University faculty, staff, researchers, and non-university staff researchers under grants and contracts to the University. • The IBC is authorized to take all actions that are necessary, including inspection of research facilities, approval of research practices and procedures and the enforcement of cessation of research activities in the event of an unresolved safety hazard. sharepoint.uno.edu/committee/safety/ibc/default.aspx

Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) • All staff, students, and faculty conducting research on any projects funded by the NSF or DHHS must complete RCR training prior to engaging in research on the project.
