What happened in his life that might effect the type of movies he likes? • When he was three his mom died of tuberculosis • His only memories of her are his mother vomiting blood and being carried away from him forever • He felt inferior to other kids • He felt closer to his foster mother • Had a affection for women • The arrangement broke off because Edgar had begun to accumulate betting debts • His step mother Frances died in 1829 • He skipped classes • Disobeyed orders until he was finally court marshaled in 1831
