  8. How Should we then Live? His job • “However, let each one of you love [agape] his wife as himself, …” • Agape love is unconditional and sacrificial love given regardless of her performance as a woman • The cost of a love-dominated culture.

  9. How Should we then Live? Her job • “…, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.” • This respect needs to be there regardless of performance, just like the Agape love she craves from him is regardless of performance.

When All is Said and Done: • The key to motivating another person is meeting their deepest need. • The fastest way to demotivate someone is to crush their spirit - to deny their deepest need. • Respect for a husband is a marginal issue in today’s culture. • “All that matters is that we love one another, and if you would just change a little bit and love me a little bit better, I would out-love you!”
