GOULASH Althoughit´stypicalHungarianmeal, it´sverypopular in Slovakia. Thisthickdishispreparedoflotsofonions, beef, carrots, potatoes, tomatoes, pepperand red paprika. It´sfavouritemealofgardenparties in summer, cooked in thegarden over anopenfire. It´sservedwithbread.
PANCAKES WITH STRAWBERRIES Thinpancakes are filledwithstrawberries, thenfolded or rolled and thendecoratedwithdarkchocolate, cream and extra strawberries. It´sveryfreshmeal.

POTATO PANCAKES WITH SAUERKRAUT Pancakes are madeofpeeled and gratedpotatoes, egg, flour, gratedonion and garlic. They are fried in oil and toppedwithsauerkraut – sourcabbage. They are verypopularand delicious.
APPLE CAKE It´smostlymadeoffreshapples in autumn. To prepareitweneedgratedapples, butter, flour, sugar, cinnamonand eggs. Itconsistsofapplefillingbetweentwolayersofdough. Itissweet and delicious. Unfortunately, it won´t last till the next day

KAPUSTNICA – SAUERKRAUT SOUP It´straditional Slovak soupeaten on Christmas Eve madeofsauerkraut, mushrooms, smoked ham, sausages, and various spices. It´softenservedwithbread and sourcream.
GINGERBREADS They are typicalChristmascakes. To preparethemweneed: honey, sugar, flour and eggs. They are in differentshapes and decoratedwithwhite – colouredicing.
