  3. June 4/5th Twelve Angry Men: You need about 5 pieces of paper stapled together. You will turn in the packet daily. Pre-Play Prompt: • If you were on trial, would you rather have a jury or a judge decide your fate? • Why?

  4. June 4th /5th • Twelve Angry Men is a drama written by Reginald Rose concerning the jury of a homicide trial. • The play concerns the deliberations of the jury of a homicide trial. At the beginning, they have a nearly unanimous decision of guilty, with a single dissenter of not guilty, who throughout the play sows a seed of reasonable doubt. • It was broadcast initially as a television play in 1954. The following year it was adapted for the stage, and in 1957 was made into a highly successful film.

  9. June 7th Answer the following questions: 1. The defendant is charged with what crime? 2. What was his motive? (Why did the kid kill his dad?) 3. List the facts you know about the defendant. ** 4. Based on information in Act I who are the primary witnesses for the prosecution? What was their testimony? ** 5. Do you think the defendant will get a fair trial/jury deliberation? Why or why not? Give THREE specific supporting facts from the play. ** **You must quote the text to support your answers with correct in text citation format**

  11. June 10/11th After Act 2 • For each juror- recap how they are voting at the end of Act 2. For each on describe what factors have influenced the jurors personally as they discussed and decided this case?** you must use direct quotes from the play 2. What is the significance of the last two lines of Act II? 3. What insight did Juror 9 bring to the jury room? Was it important to the case? Why or why not?** you must use direct quotes from the play 4. Do you have a cause or belief that you feel strong enough about to “stand alone”? If so what is it? If not, why not? Start Act 3
