Library Information • Library is based in the Lantern Centre • It is a multidisciplinary library • The service is Lancashire wide via email, phone, postage, fax, intranet • Agreements are in place for staff to use their local NHS library if they wish although they will have a limited Mental Health collection

The Library BLOGhttp://lancashirecare.wordpress.com/ What is the Blog? • The blog is accessible 24 hours a day. • It saves you time, good current awareness, updated every day. • Your first stop for Research and Information needs. • You can access the library catalogue, National Library for Health, E-Books, Journals, Reports etc.
What is an Athens? • It is a Password that gives you access to the National Library for Health (NLH) • It is easy to get you can either: • Complete the form in your pack Today • Or self register from any NHS pc. • Once you have an Athens ID you can use it both at work and home to access the following databases; Medline, Psychinfo, Embase, Cochrane, Proquest full text journals MyI Library E-books. These are the names of the databases you should be using for literature searching. • If you are unsure about using any of the above please either ‘drop-in to the library or contact one of the library staff.
Library Services • Books – you can borrow up to 6 books for a month, remember you can either ring up, email or bring the books in to renew. • Article requests - If you cannot obtain full-text journal articles you can either email or phone to make a request. The library has access to full-text journal articles across the NorthWest and British Library. If in doubt contact the library. • We produce a Current Awareness Bulletin – circulated via email every 4 –5 weeks • Induction Pack to make you aware of the range of services we provide.
Outreach Librarian Services • Short of time, doing a Masters, have an idea for a research project or just need help with a Literature Search you can email myself Sue Jennings and ask for a literature search. • TheLibraryBlog updated daily www.lancashirecare.wordpress.com Current awareness in Mental Health • Delivering training across the Trust • If you require more in-depth training on developing search strategies, or how to use a particular database i.e. Cochrane, Pubmed, NLH. I can come out to you at your workplace at your convenience.
