Classroom/Grade Level Competition Quick deadline & easy to manage! • Membership competition with another LU • Corporate Sponsors • Add donated memberships to sponsor package • Distribute donated membership to staff (to get 100% staff) • Pay It Forward • send a Pay it Forward letter with each donated membership • Event Admission = PTA Membership • (such as movie night) • Membership table at every PTA or school event • Identify non-members – Send a special mailer with deadline asking them to join IDEAS TO INCREASE Membership

7. Grade level Grants • Require all Grade Level Teachers join PTA by October to qualify for a PTA Grant (Oct 31 deadline for 100% staff) • New Family Packets • Provide administration “Welcome to our School Folders” for incoming families • Membership Form, PTA Goals, Accomplishments, Volunteer form, Room Parent form, Event Calendar • Student Birthday Recognition only to PTA Members’ students • Morning announcements, lobby monitor, etc. • Offer a cheaper Yearbook Price to PTA Members • Promote the “How & Why” PTA makes a difference in education at your school. 8. Set-up a Database • Excel Spreadsheet or PT Avenue to track members Database should include: • Membership # (Primary & Secondary #’s) • Name & Contact Information (phone/email) • Identify members type (Staff, Parent, Business Partner, Donated) • Financial Info (Membership Pkg, Form of Payment, Date joined) • Be able to track trends Membership Notebook (original forms) • Keep past years Membership Records at School in PTA Office/Media Center • IRS Audit will require membership records (Keep for 7 years) Membership Procedures Notebook • Plan of Work Form • Approved Budget • Dues Transmittal Forms • Request for Additional Cards Form • Awards Form • Financial Forms (check req, cash verification, copies of expenses) • Student Enrollment # at the end of the first full week of school • List of Staff (to track % of participation) Membership list/sign-in sheet – provide a list for each General Membership Meeting.
