Prioritize Education First Advocate for budget policies that prioritize education funding first by continuing the commitment to Basic Education Finance Planning (ESHB 2261) Increased funding for education should not come at the expense of other child related programs. Close the Achievement and Opportunity Gap Eliminate the achievement gap and develop equal access to opportunity for all Washington Students. These reforms must include provisions for the advancement of all learners including ELL, highly capable, and special education students. Increase Basic Education Funding Complete the commitment to funding basic education and to put Washington State pupils in the top 10 for state funding in the US. Funding options should provide a stable base of equitable funding and access to resources in both urban and rural communities.
