  2. Before: Sassy After: Kind and Nice On the boat, she learned how to be kind and nice, not sassy.

  3. Before: Ladylike and Clean After: Hardworking and Dirty On the ship, she changed from ladylike and clean to a hard working and dirty sailor.

  4. Before: Obedient After: Independent She learned, on the ship, that it was better to be independent than obedient.

  5. Before: Naïve and Honest After: Adventurous and Brave Charlotte climbing to the Royal Yard showed her change between naïve and honest to adventurous an brave.

  6. Conclusion (And Resources) These are some of many of Charlotte Doyle’s good and bad character traits from The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle. During that voyage of the summer of 1832, she became a better person.
