  4. Human & Physical Features The literacy rate of Somalia is 19. Compared to the U.S.A, 86. WOW! A lot bigger! To begin with, we will start with population. Somalia’s population is 8,196,000 (2005 estimate). Compared to the U.S, 299,846,000. Next, will be Life expectancy. The life expectancy for Somalia is 48.2. The U.S is 78.2. Now, passenger cars for Somalia. Somalia is 3 (per 1,000 population). The U.S, on the other hand, has 789 passenger cars per 1,000 people. The doctors for Somalia is 4 (per 1,000 population). But the U.S has 256 (doctors per 1,000 population).Finally, the total area for Somalia is 246,201 (square miles). But compared to the U.S, 3,794,083. What a big number! So as you can see, Somalia and the U.S are similar and different in many ways.

  5. Flag The Somalia flag looks simple, but this flag has a lot of meaning to it!First of all, we need to talk about the meaning of thesymbols. The blue base of the flag, represents the blue sky over Somalia. Next, the star in the middle of the flag represents African Freedom. With this in mind, the star’s individual points represents 5historical regions inhabited by Somalian people. The Italian Somaliland, the British Somaliland, the French Somaliland, the ogaden region of Ethiopia and North Kenya. The flag was inspired by the flag U.N, who had previously named the country as a trustee of italy for 10 years. In 1960, Somalia gained independence and united with the former British Somaliland. Mohamed Awale liban designed the Somalia flag and presented it to the government. He did this less than 24 hours!In conclusion, I hope you learned a lot about the somalia flag. The flag is rich in history and meaning.

  7. Religion Somalia has only 1 religion, and the religion 100% Islam.To begin with, origins and history. Muhammad, 622 AD, Saudi Arabia. Next, Adherents worldwide. 1.3 billion (Sunni: 940 million). Now God(s) and universe. One God (Allah in Arabic). Next, human situation and lifes purpose. Humans must submit (Islam) to the will of God to gain paradise after death. The afterlife is paradise or hell. The practices are the Five Pillars: Faith, Prayer, Alms, Pilgrimage, and Fasting. Mosque services on Fridays. Ablutions before prayer. No alcohol or pork. Holidays related to the pilgrimage and fast of Ramadan. Finally, the text. Quran (scripture); Hadith (traditional).Now you know all about Somalia and its 1, 100%, Islam.

  9. Animals, Plants, & Natural Resources Somalia has many interesting animals, plants, and Natural Resources. Female lions in a group can go from 2-20 lions!First, the lifespan of a lion is 18 years (pretty wild). A large meal can make lions go to sleep for up to 24 hours afterward. Next, a plant in Somalia is Bananas. Just as interesting as the banana plant being a herb, is that the banana itself is actually a berry. Bananas are naturally radioactive. A natural resource is natural gas. It was formed deep under Earth about 100 million years ago. Natural gas is colorless and odorless.In conclusion, Somalia has many animals, plants, and Natural Resources. Lions, bananas, and natural gas.
