  3. General Aptitude Requirements • Top 25% of class or ACT 22/SAT 1040 or 3.0 GPA • Admission may be granted with one deficiency in no more than two competency areas; deficiencies in both math and science are not acceptable.

NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) Academic Eligibility Requirements Division I • Graduate from high school • Complete the 16 core courses • Earn a minimum GPA in core courses • Earn a combined SAT or ACT sum score that matches your core course GPA and test score on the sliding scale Division II • Graduate from high school • Complete the 14 core courses • Earn a 2.0 GPA or better in your core courses • Earn a combined SAT score of 820 or an ACT sum score of 68.

  12. AIMS Honors Tuition Waiver • Valid at ASU, NAU, and U of A • Valid for only one year following graduation from high school • Renewable for four years based upon university-determined criteria

ABOR Scholarship Criteria (AIMS scholarship) • Part 1 (Course Competency) • Students must complete all 16 Core Competency Courses by graduation with a B* or better or receive an acceptable score on the Advance Placement (AP) test for that subject area AND • Part 2 (GPA/Class Rank) • Students must meet at least ONE of the following academic requirements: • Option 1 - GPA: A CORE GPA of 3.50 IN THE 16 CORE COMPETENCY COURSES on an un-weighted 4.00 scale. • Option 2 - Class Rank: Student is in the top 5% of high school graduating class upon graduation. • AND

  14. Part 3 (AIMS Exams) Students must meet the following assessment options: • Option 1: EXCEED Standards on all 3 of the AIMS Exams (Reading, Writing, and Math) by the end of junior year. • Option 2: EXCEED Standards on 2 of the AIMS HS Exams (Reading, Writing, and Math) and MEET Standards on one of the AIMS HS Exams by the end of their junior year. Additionally, student would need to receive a minimum score of 3 on any two Advanced Placement tests. • ***For the high school graduating class of 2013 and beyond AND • Part 4 (SAT1/ACT) • Students must meet at least one of the following admissions test options and submit scores to the university they apply to • Option 1: At least a 28 on the ACT test • Option 2: At least a 1300 on the SAT1 test (critical reading & math, excluding essay)

  15. Can I be awarded more than one scholarship per semester? • Yes. More than one scholarship can be awarded to a student. The only exception would be if the donor specifically says not to award if the student is receiving any other scholarship.

  16. Scholarship Application Core Components: • Personal Statement • Letters of recommendation (2 minimum) • Academic Transcript • Resume • Activity List • SAT/ACT scores • “Student Aid Report” from FAFSA

  17. University Scholarship Programs (need-based) ASU Obama Scholar Program –You must demonstrate a total annual family income of $60,000 or less on the FAFSA. U of A Assurance Program - You must demonstrate a total annual family income of $42,400 or less on the FAFSA.

DE vs AP Dual Enrollment: • To meet “core” requirements & electives • $243 per semester ($76 per credit hour plus $15 registration fee per semester) • The grade is the same as the HS grade • Transfers in-state and other public institutions and many private schools; not accepted by some selective private schools. Advanced Placement: • To meet “core” requirements & some electives • $87 per exam • Based on a single, national exam administered in May; class grade has nothing to do with exam score • Transfers to most institutions, public and private.
