  2. Horses • A baby female is called a filly, a baby boy is called a colt, and a baby boy or girl is called a foal. • When first born baby foals can’t eat grass. • Most foals are born at night.

  3. Horses • Horses suck up their water instead of lapping water. • Horses use their tails to send signals to each other. • Foals can stand up within one hour of being born.

  4. Horses • Horses belong in the equus family. • Horses height is measured with hands. • A pony is not a baby horse.It is a full grown small horse.

  5. Horses • Thoroughbreds all have the same birthday. • Horses lose their baby teeth like humans do. • The foal is born with out any teeth.
