Criticality Safety Education • Current Emphasis – Develop national consensus standard, ANSI/ANS-8.26, “Criticality Safety Engineer Training and Qualification”, Draft now in Working Group (WG) status • White Papers on the Web – Key topics include NCS Education Committee Overview, An Acceptable NCS Evaluation, A Standard CSE, NCS Mentors and Qualifications, Training for non-NCS Managers, Professional Development Workshops and Tutorials • Workshops/Tutorials – efforts continue; burnup credit tutorial planned for Hollywood, FL 2002 meeting • Technical Session Certificates – NCSD Technical Session Certificate of Attendance made available to participants (as demonstration of professional development).

Recent Initiatives • Emerging Issues White Papers • subcommittee to screen issues and develop white paper; then exec committee controls issuance to web. • Local Meetings • 10% of members attend national meetings • need more benefits for rest • local areas meetings proposed to fill gap • Web page – NEED TO UTILIZE MORE
