Nuclear Installation Safety Division (NISD) Charter and Focus • Promote the safety of nuclear installations, and health & safety of the public, enhancing the role of safety in design, construction, and operations of nuclear installations/facilities and advance the engineering and scientific technology associated with facility safety • Encourage NI safety technology discussions • Integrate and disseminate NI safety information • Promote NI interchange among professional groups • Facilitate nuclear industry and regulatory group interactions

Nuclear Installation Safety Division (NISD) Membership Trend: Observations • Downtrend has been steady with stagnant industry growth • Divisional membership decrease over 5 years is about twice that of the Society as a whole • Trend similar to Operations & Power • (NISD experiencing slightly lower % decreases) • Aging membership (Retirements) • Changing career roles and diversification within ANS • Accelerator Applications • Decomm, Decon, & Reutilization • When Nuclear Operations merged with Power Division, NISD membership continued constant decline
