The National Policy Consensus Center An applied research and development center in collaborative governance at Portland State University’s College of Urban and Public Affairs National headquarters for collaborative decision making research, development and training in the states Co-chaired by Governor Ruth Ann Minner of Delaware and Governor Jim Geringer of Wyoming along with leaders from13 other states Home of the University Network for Collaborative Governance, a national network of 30 university-based centers

  3. Spectrum of Collaborative Governance NPCC develops and tests out innovative methods of collaborative governance along a spectrum of activities:

  4. University Network for Collaborative Governance Members of UNCG are neutral forums and resource and service centers that aid in the practice of collaborative governance. These centers are committed to the support of learning and advancing shared knowledge of collaborative governance practices.

UNCG Member: PARCC Research At Syracuse University’s Program for the Advancement of Research on Conflict and Collaboration, faculty conduct research on public management including groups and individuals in networks; gathering evidence of interorganizational collaboration; and public participation.

UNCG Member: Davenport Institute • Training / Teaching • The Davenport Institute for Public Engagement and Civic Leadership at Pepperdine University trains leaders in: • The “Civic Engagement Spectrum”: From “informing” to “involving” • How to develop a positive public engagement campaign • What important behavior changes must occur for the participants in a civic engagement process • The criteria for judging an effective civic engagement process

  9. UNCG Member: Oregon Consensus Service Portland State University’s Oregon Consensus designed and facilitated six public meetings around the state and developed a public input website for the Oregon Health Authority to solicit broad public input on health reform options.
