  1. NSCC Online Learning Hybrid Spanish 101 - 102 - 103 A Web Based Online Course

  2. Course Description • Basic communicative proficiency in listening, reading, speaking and writing. Oral practice with Dos Mundos video on CD-ROM.

  3. Learning Objectives • To enhance knowledge of conversational Spanish. • To practice language standards for language communication such as how to pronounce Spanish words and understand simple written papers in Spanish. • To raise the general level of language proficiency focusing on Dos Mundos -Audio Program by understanding the culture of different regions.

  4. Course Outline • Introduction to the cultural elements through Interactive CD-ROM. • Basic patterns of pronunciation. • Talk about your immediate world. • Talk about your likes and dislikes. • Talk about the details of your daily life. • How to communicate with different members of a family. • Comparisons between your experience and of others.

  5. Student Level Placement • Students will be placed by language proficiency levels. • There are available written and oral tests to place the students. • To register for Spanish 102, students need to have completed 101 college level.

  6. Course Requirements • Regular class participation on campus. • One hour Destinos viewing per day. • One hour of homework per day.

  7. Methods of Assessments • Five chapters exams • Five vocabulary quizzes • One five minute oral presentation

  8. Student Computer Requirements • Computer with Pentium 1 GHz class processor or equivalent • High speed internet connection (DSL or Cable Modem) • Windows XP with Service Pack 2 • 256 MB of memory (512 MB is preferred)

  9. Communications with Students • Via student e-mail • Meet with instructor on campus (50%)
