STATE LICENCING TRAINING REQUIREMENTS • According to Minimum Licensing Standards every employee is required to receive 15 training hours per calendar year. • Minimum standards say that the training topics should include things such as: child growth and development, guidance and discipline, age-appropriate curriculum, safety, children with special needs, cultural diversity, effective communication, and time management. • AlphaBEST will provide face to face training two times a year. In August before school begins and in the Spring of the school year. Those training days will be 5 hour training days. • AlphaBEST employees who are also employed by ISD’s who receive professional development on topics like the ones outlined above can use the hours they receive from the school district for AlphaBEST training hours too. How will non-ISD AlphaBEST employees receive the required training?

  3. Kaplan Online Learning • Employees must complete and return Registration form. • The form is faxed to our Support Center and they register each employee. The Support Center will email log in directions directly to each employee.

  4. How to log in • Go to www.kaplanco.com • Go to services tab and a drop down menu will show. Choose online learning. • You will be directed to a new page – choose online learning log in on the left page. • Drop down will appear and you will enter log in and password and will be directed to your professional development page.

  5. My Online Learning • Registered for Professional Development Courses • Current Courses • Completed Courses • View Transcript

  6. What Courses? • At the beginning of each month one course will be chosen for all employees to complete during that month. The course names will be emailed out to the site managers.

  7. How to be paid • As you finish the course, bring the certificate to the site manager for your file. You will view your transcript and may will be asked for your password when you print the certificate. • The hour will be added to your time. • Limit of 2 training hours per month.
