  4. Lessons for Us • Sinners will be punished for sin, Gen 6:11-13, 17; Rom 2:2, 5-11 • God provides escape, Gen 6:14, 18 • God is gracious to those who walk with Him, Gen 6:8-9, 22-7:1 (Eph 2:10) • God (not Noah) judged who went into ark • No partiality, Gen 7:23 (Rom 2:11)

  7. Who Shut the Door? BENEVOLENT WORK OF CHURCH • Needy saints, Acts 4:34-35; 11:27-30 • Charge: You don’t care about orphans, the homeless and the hungry! • God OPENS door: Church—needy saints • God SHUTS door: Church—All men

  8. Who Shut the Door? Divorce and Remarriage • One reason, Matt 19:9; 5:32; 1 Cor 7:10-11 • Charge: You don’t forgive adulterers! • Charge: You forbid marriage and command divorce! (Matt 19:10-12) • God OPENS door: Remarriage (Matt 19:9) • God SHUTS door: All who are put away

  9. Who Shut the Door? Fellowship • 2 John 9-11 (2 Cor 6:14-7:1) • Charge: Unrighteous judgment for not accepting all faiths and all creeds • Charge: Unloving, unkind and judgmental • God OPENS door: All who abide in doctrine • God SHUTS door: All who go beyond

  10. Days of Noah • Point of reference for the “days of the Son of Man” (Lk 17:26-27, 30) • Judgment against Jerusalem • Where will you be when God shuts the door to heaven on the Judgment Day: • In the ark of safely? • In the world of sin? Matt 7:13-14, 21-23
