  2. Process Improvements • Tiger Teams • Re-engineered DIWS to improve quality control • Established nationwide certification DIWS network • Created and enhanced the Aviation Medical Examiner Assisted Special Issuance (AASI) process • Engaged EAA, AOPA & CAMI to promote the AASI process

  3. Future Plans • Extend the interval for first class medical certification to yearly for pilots under age 40. • Extend the internal for third class medical certification to five years for pilots under age 40. • Expand the use of delegation.
