Variation in Temperature and Precipitation Temperature • Summer the average temperature is between 70-80 degrees • Coldest month usually averages 45-50 degrees Precipitation • Annual precipitation varies from 254 cm (100 in) around the coastand 63 cm (25 in) inland • Irregular droughts are common= catastrophic to agriculture • Winter rainfall brings large storms • Summer rainfall occurs during thunderstorms and an occasional tropical storm, hurricane • Summers are long and almost tropical, • Temperatures reach freezing only a few times in the winter with rare snowfall, usually three inches or less

Where Humid Continental has all four seasons; Summer, Winter, Fall, and Spring. The people who lived in a Humid Subtropical and Mediterranean zone would live there life differently than people who live in a Humid Continental from what they wear, what vegetation/crops they grow, what activities they do, and so on.
