Join us for three weeks of engaging activities focusing on greenhouse warming and energy. We'll begin by assessing global CO2 emissions through ArcView, followed by a role-play in climate negotiations aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions to 7.5% below 1990 levels. Students will expand their knowledge of global CO2 patterns while gaining familiarity with ArcView data sets. Prepare to negotiate on behalf of various groups including AOSIS, EU, JUSCANZ, and G.77, as we work collaboratively toward impactful climate solutions.

Overview • Three weeks of related activities dealing with greenhouse warming and energy • CO2 ArcView (today) • Climate Negotiation Role Play (next week) • Energy Arc View (after Spring Break) • Today • Assess the global dimensions of CO2 • Begin preparation for Climate Negotiations
Why care about CO2? ODP = ozone depletion potential (CFC-11 = 1.0)GP = greenhouse potential (CFC-12 = 1.0)
Trop 03 • To expand our knowledge of global patterns of CO2 emissions • To increase our comfort exploring ArcView Data Sets
Climate Negotiations Role Play Goal: Negotiate an agreement to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to 7.5% below 1990 levels. • AOSIS – Chris, Whitney, Karen, Mark • EU – Jordan W., Chester, Sam, John • JUSCANZ – Nick, WangKi, Lauren, Jordan Z. • G 77 – Megan, Jimmy, Marvin, Dawn, Amy $
