  3. Why to go on with TCDP II Programme? • Economic exchanges increase everyday between Turkey and European countries • All cities of the Thrace region are concerned because of their geographic position (main passage wayfor international transports through Europe)

  4. Local CCI have to support their members in the improvement of international skills (efficiency) Neccessity for Thracian companies to speak foreign languages and first of all English in a professionalenvironment Why to go on with TCDP II Programme?

Corlù expressed its will to participate Corlù is located in a region where industrialisation develops rapidly + it has a free zone (many contacts for import and export) Corlù and Edirne are located at only 100 Km (motorway) Reinforcement of the existing cooperation between both CCIs Why having chosen Corlù?

  6. To make a transfer of know how in business English courses from ETSO to CTSO preparing a future dissimination on other Thracian CCIs To develop foreign language courses at ETSO ( English + other foreign languages) Main objectives of the project

  7. To reinforce the economic position of theThrace region by enhancing the role of local CCI in the development of new competitive skills (business English practice) of their company members Main objectives of the project

  8. Step 1 : (December 04) Positioning of a new Edirne’s language courses offer Implementation of a market survey in Corlù Step 2 : (December 04) Discovery of thefunctioning of the LCCI language training centre Main activities performed

  9. Step 3 : (December 04/January 05) Building of a commercial offerat the right price (January 2005) Step 4 :(January 05) Design and setting up of commercial & communication tools :launching of action plan & commercialisation Main activities performed

  10. Step 5 : (January/February/March 05) Pedagogical organisation & launching of English sessions Step 6 : (Febraury/ March/April/May/June 05) Distance monitoring + follow up on the spot Step 7 : (June 05) Final evaluation of training and trainers Main activities performed

  11. Positioning of a new Edirne’s language courses offer English offer: 150 letters sent to companies 30 answers Greek offer: 70 letters sent to companies 50 answers RESULTS : Positioning & market survey

  22. Training methods and material Very new and centred on participative oral methods. Not enough time to use the Business Modules because of the short implementation of the project The wish of adding a «speaking class» to the main class course Evaluation results (5)

For Edirne : The creation of a real language training activity at E.T.S.O (courses in English + other languages) The ETSO wishes to develop training activities in other fields (entrepreunership, foreign trade…) The experience of E.T.S.O in know how transfer to other Turkish CCI in the field of training :for example to the CCI of Tekirdag Lasting & Positives effects of the co-operation

  24. For Corlù : The implementation of a language training activity at CTSO in a very short lapse of time with a high quality of training and trainers. The perspective of establishing language training at CTSO as a regular long term activity on an interesting potential market. The serious and professional image given by the cooperation between the Lyon and Corlù CCIs which will enable future know how transfer to other Turkish CCI in the field of training :for example to the Cerkezkoy CCI. Lasting & Positives effects of the co-operation

  25. Only one person at C.T.S.O involved in the project and capable of speaking English The short span of the TCDP II programme didn’t allow enough time to carry out the different steps of the project properly. Most important difficultiers

In Edirne : To enlarge the training offer in English and in other languages To reinforce commercialisation in order to attrack new clients in next sessions To find new suitable roomS for courses (if the volume of the training sessions increases) To deal with trainer recruitment (advanced level trainees) Strategy to consolidate the results in the long term

  27. In Corlù : To communicate on the results of the first training sessions To enlarge the training offer (german language) To reinforce commercialisation new clients in next sessions. To focus on teaching methods To secure the permanent team at CTSO concerned by language training Strategy to consolidate the results in the long term
