  4. Regrading The Percent written on each test is NOT a percent of the possible highest score (128). Tests rescored as a percentage of the highest actual score of 118. Thus I’ve thrown out 10 points as “test error” and assumed the best actual score is the best possible score. Another way of thinking about this is that you’re being compared in relative terms to the student who scored the highest grade rather than to a (harder) absolute standard. This tells you how you’re doing in comparison to your classmates.
