Transitional Kindergarten Senate Bill (SB) 1381 • Changes the required birthday for admission to kindergarten • Established requirement to provide a transitional kindergarten program • Funding provided for ADA Governor’s Budget Proposal • Continues change to required start date • Providing Transitional Kindergarten becomes optional • Uncertainty of funding

  3. What this means…….. Plan A and Plan B A: Transitional Kindergarten – current plan • 1 Class at each site • Moving start date forward to Sept. 1 this fall B: Governor’s Proposal • No Transitional Kindergarten • Start date for kindergarten becomes Nov. 1 • Children born in Nov. will not come to school • We will have fewer kindergarten students
